Not being lightning protection specilists, Engineers, Architects and main Contractors offen neglect to incorporate the lightning protection installation into the builders progeamme. When not installed at the appropriate phase of construction it can be a problem for ADS in terms of concealment, access, cost etc, thus making it more expensive and less aesthetic for the client. Hence it is important for all concerned for ADS to be oppointed and on site as soon as possible.
Many Architects and Engineers realise that reinforced concrete and steel columns can be use as conductors but unless the installation is commissioned when the ground is open, earthing can be difficult and costly.

We offer an Annual Maintenance Contract for Lightning Conductor Systems to maintain effectiveness and compliance to BS6651:1999 Code of Practice. /IS EN 62305 (depending in the year of installation). Your lightning protection systems should be inspected annually to ensure that the connections are not corroded or damaged. Roof metalwork could have been added, rendering the system less effective and climatic conditions could have changed the system earth resistance. If you had a strike your system should be tested immediately to assess any damage it may have suffered because it may be rendered ineffective. In that case you should contact us immediately and we will carry out a full Inspection and Test of the installation.
